Job Title: Portfolio Risk Manager

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and analytical Portfolio Risk Manager to join our investment management team. The Portfolio Risk Manager will be responsible for assessing, monitoring, and mitigating investment risks across portfolios, ensuring alignment with risk tolerance and investment objectives. This role requires strong quantitative skills, risk management expertise, and a deep understanding of portfolio analysis and financial markets.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement risk management strategies and frameworks to identify, assess, and mitigate portfolio risks.
  • Conduct risk assessments and stress testing of investment portfolios, analyzing factors such as market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk, and operational risk.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and risk metrics, including value-at-risk (VaR), tracking error, and other risk measures, to evaluate portfolio exposure and compliance with risk limits.
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers, investment analysts, and traders to analyze investment strategies and optimize portfolio risk-return profiles.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on portfolio construction, asset allocation, and risk-adjusted returns based on risk analysis and scenario modeling.
  • Communicate risk assessments and portfolio insights to senior management, investment committees, and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain risk reporting frameworks, preparing regular risk reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about market trends, regulatory changes, and industry best practices in portfolio risk management.
  • Participate in due diligence processes for new investments, assessing risk factors and contributing to investment decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk policies, maintaining documentation and adherence to risk management guidelines.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Quantitative Finance, or related field (Master’s degree, CFA, or FRM certification preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Portfolio Risk Manager, Risk Analyst, or similar role with 5-7 years of experience in investment risk management.
  • Strong quantitative skills and proficiency in risk modeling, statistical analysis, and financial modeling techniques.
  • Advanced knowledge of risk management principles, methodologies, and tools (e.g., Monte Carlo simulation, stress testing, scenario analysis).
  • Familiarity with portfolio management systems, risk analytics software, and financial databases (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex risk concepts and insights to diverse audiences.
  • Leadership and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence decision-making processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
