Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring monthly closing process is performed timely and accurately through performance of specific tasks including journal entries, account analysis and reconciliations, inventory balance posting, financial analysis and reporting.
- Coordination and oversight or closing processes, activities, and accounting across the organization to ensure schedule is achieved.
- Preparation of financial statements for external 3rd parties to include auditors, lenders, insurance providers, credit agencies etc.
- Ensures accuracy of accounts through appropriate, timely account reconciliations and roll forwards while ensuring compliance with corporate policy and GAAP. Review and approval of reconciliations prepared by others.
- Responsible for preparing weekly Key Performance Indicators (KPI) reporting.
- Responsible for reviewing Purchase Order receipts and reconciling to journal entry posting to Oracle.
- Contribute to the design, modification and improvement of accounting systems and processes.
- Ensures adherence to and communication of accounting policies and procedures.
- May lead tasks or aspects of a task or project; provide guidance to less experienced staff members across different departments.
- Provides assistance to management and customers, interpreting accounting reports and identifying and resolving problem areas
- Supports annual audit requirements with schedule preparation and interface with auditors.
- Perform weekly inventory mock audits and cycle counts.
- May require traveling to the Duluth, GA plant.
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned, as required.
- 2+ years directly related experience
- Industry experience, preferably in a multi-site environment
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field
- Thorough understanding of GAAP
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
- Advance knowledge in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Experience with BI tools
- Experience with ERP systems preferably QAD and/or Oracle
- 0 – 10% of time (Position is based in Duluth, GA)
