Open Position: PeopleSoft Development Manager

This position can be performed from anywhere in the U.S.


What cool stuff does this job do?


Information Technology Services (ITS) at the MCCCD seeks an experienced IT Manager on the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) team. Under the direction of the IT Director, this critical position will manage and collaborate with the PeopleSoft development team, as well as participate in software development activities, as they support production, ongoing development, upgrades, and enhancements for the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions (CS), Human Capital Management (HCM), Planning & Budgeting Cloud Service (PBCS), and Financial Management (FMS) systems. The IT Manager acts as the solutions architect and leads the development and implementation of systems projects using technology-based solutions.


This role frequently engages with functional and technical teams to develop new functionality to meet business requirements and enhance existing customizations and applications. In addition to showcasing exceptional technical abilities and hands-on PeopleSoft PeopleTools experience, the person in this role is someone who enjoys sharing their knowledge and mentoring junior developers.


Where will my time be spent?


30% - Plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, reviews and evaluates the work of staff; identifies training needs and opportunities; supports professional growth activities and encourages team members to use MCCCD funds to seek out external trainings/conferences; mentors junior developers


30% - Oversees the day-to-day development and support functions of Maricopa’s ERP; develops complex code, APIs, and strategies, while collaborating with functional and development teams for implementation of Peoplesoft ERP’s integrated systems


25% - Technical lead/solutions architect for PeopleSoft Integrated solutions across pillars, PeopleTools upgrades, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) hardware and software upgrades, and PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) updates


10% - Researches and implements industry standards, trends, best practices, and emerging technologies


5% - Performs other duties as assigned


So, to be considered I need to have...


Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology or a directly related field and five (5) years of professional experience managing PeopleSoft applications, which includes two (2) years of supervisory experience.


Or


Associate’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology or a directly related field and seven (7) years of professional experience managing PeopleSoft applications, which includes two (2) years of supervisory experience.


Or


High School Diploma/GED and nine (9) years of professional experience managing PeopleSoft applications, which includes two (2) years of supervisory experience


You'd like me to also have...


  • Experience leading and managing large-scale implementation, upgrade, and/or integration projects in a PeopleSoft ERP environment or SaaS Cloud applications
  • Experience supervising/managing resources, products, and vendor relationships
  • Experience using one or more of the following: PeopleSoft Integration Broker, Developing REST/SOAP web services, PeopleSoft Security, and PeopleSoft Fluid Development
  • Experience using the PeopleSoft Application Designer toolset (App Engine, Integration Broker, Data Mover, Component Interface, People Code, Page/Component, Web Services, and COBOL)
  • Experience providing production support for PeopleSoft ERPs (CS/HCM/FMS); preferably in higher education
  • Experience with PeopleSoft administration including managing Linux and Windows hosts and PeopleSoft Pure Internet Architecture (PIA)
  • Experience with Oracle databases, including SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning

$99,569 - $129,440/annually, DOE
