Duration: 6 months with possible contract to hire/ with possible extension
Description
Position Overview/Project Details:
Grossing routine to complex resections at a cancer institution.
Frozen sections and other ancillary studies performed (tissue banking, procurement for cytogenetics).
Receives and examines surgical specimens for further diagnosis, autopsy prosecution and photography.
Prepares specimens for fixation and embedding.
Performs frozen section procedures and participates in a variety of departmental activities and services, including patient services, research, teaching and technical procedure development.
Prior to obtaining Pathologist Assistant certification, must perform the following essential functions under the guidance of a certified Pathologist Assistant.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
New grads welcome, experience preferred.
PA(ASCP) certification required.
