Job Opportunity: Patent Paralegal (Fluent in Mandarin)
Overview:
A prestigious global intellectual property law firm is actively seeking a dedicated Patent Paralegal to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two (2) years of experience in patent prosecution, fluency in Mandarin for professional communication, and the flexibility to commute into Washington D.C. three (3) days a month.
Responsibilities:
Prepare, obtain, and file documents related to all phases of patent prosecution, including client instructions, assignments, information disclosure statements, and responses to office actions
Maintain and manage a prosecution docket, ensuring all deadlines and due dates are met
Accurately record daily work hours into the firm’s timekeeping system to achieve established billable goals
Qualifications:
Fluency in Mandarin (reading, writing, speaking) for business dealings and workplace interactions
Minimum of 2 years of experience in patent prosecution, with a preference for foreign prosecution experience
Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-recognized program, or equivalent experience in legal support
