How You Contribute to Company's Success

We are looking for a hands-on Operations Controller to lead all aspects of our Cost Accounting function. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the standard costing system, as well as accurate, timely and informative financial reporting on Operational performance and inventories. Key responsibilities will include leading the monthly close process for inventory and cost of goods sold, ensuring inventory policies and controls are in place and are compliant with GAAP, and cost variance analysis and reporting. This role is perfect for an individual with a desire to work in a rewarding industry, who takes a “roll up the sleeves” approach and wants to use their knowledge and experience to drive improvements. This position is an in-office role and reports directly to the Controller.


What You Will Do

Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of accounting for all transactions, ensuring all transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP and company policies and procedures

Oversee and participate in all aspects of the cost function – inventory valuation and control, cycle counts, costing model, standard cost updates, variance analysis, and donor cost review

Regular review of staffing capacity, workload balance, cross-training, and team development to support company goals and objectives

Establish, implement, and monitor inventory policies, practices, and systems to create a robust internal control environment

Perform monthly inventory valuation and analysis and develop and enforce cycle count policies in partnership with the Operations team

Review all recovery agencies contracts to ensure accounting procedures and controls are in place and correct costs and credits are being applied

Partner with the Operations and Donor Services teams to fully understand the recovery and manufacturing process

Establish effective working relationships with internal partners, including supply chain, operations, donor services and facilities

Proactively engage with leaders throughout the company to anticipate, understand and respond to issues relating to business performance

What Qualifications You Will Bring

Bachelor’s degree required, CPA or CMA certification preferred

5+ years of progressive experience in accounting roles within a manufacturing environment with a demonstrated track record of success in financial leadership as well as in implementing new processes, controls, and systems

ERP implementation experience preferred


What Additional Qualifications Would Be Helpful

Exceptional MS Excel skills along with a solid comfort in either implementing and/or leveraging financial applications

Actively participate in the success of the company and take its outcome seriously

Extreme comfort within an ERP and a solid understanding of how these systems work and interact with other solutions


Where You Will Work

Full Time position (40 hours or more) based in Phoenix, Arizona. Hours may include evenings and weekends to perform tasks outlined in the job description.
