Multi Functional Manufacturing Planner Asc Mgr

Manages the planning, scheduling, and routing of inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments of freight. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.

Represents company with carriers, negotiates claims, and selects carriers to ensure efficient, timely, and least expensive movement of goods and material.

Directs research on transportation methods, rates, and routes.

Provides direction to subordinates based on general policies and management guidance. Frequent contacts with internal personnel and outside customers and industry peers at various management levels concerning operations or scheduling of specific phases of projects or contracts. Coordinates with International Trade Compliance / Legal for resolution of potential Voluntary Disclosure issues. Will ensure business practices and records are in strict adherence to US Export rules and regulations. The job scope includes the management of a total staff of 12-15 employees consisting of salaried exempt/non-exempt salaried and/or represented/non-represented hourly employees in the management of shipping and traffic operations associated with Production Planning & Control. Develop the department’s organizational structure and perform strategic manpower planning. Track and manage budgets and overhead cost. Travel may be required to production sites and/or supplier locations. Work outside of the normal operating hours may be required.
