About Us

Rehab Media Group (RMG) is a dynamic and rapidly growing company with a unique start-up vibe. We're a team of self-starters who are dedicated, loyal, and hardworking — and we're proud to have a fun culture where professionals work together to solve complex problems, relying on each other's talents and abilities.

Join Rehab Media Network to be a part of a thriving work environment where you can make a real impact connecting people seeking treatment with quality rehabs across the country.

About The Role

RMN's Medical Officer is a subject matter expert in the drug and alcohol industry, with a specialization in the addiction space. As Medical Officer, you will present as the "face of the company."

You'll be responsible forinteracting with external parties (e.g. interview requests with press, journalists, influencers), providing expert insights to our communications team, and representing RMN in the media on behalf of the company's multiple brands.

This is a remote, ongoing part-time contract position — ideal as a complement to your existing medical practice, professorship, or consultative career. Time commitment will range from 10-15 hours per week.

Please note: If you're on staff at a drug or alcohol rehab facility, this role would be considered a conflict of interest.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain contacts via a multi-channel communications strategy
  • Collaborate with RMN's marketing team; share industry news, trends, and best practices
  • Medically review select online articles, videos, and other external messaging
  • Approve relevant digital, video, audio and print content for medical accuracy; provide byline as needed
  • Answer all media inquiries from journalists and act as resource to be cited in upcoming pieces (with the assistance of RMN's marketing team)
  • Uphold general brand voice and guidelines across all platforms and when interacting with media
  • Appear at industry events, trade shows, and conferences (we're flexible on this one!)
  • Prepare and manage your own professional communications
  • Provide dedicated daily availability throughout the week to interact with our communications team and address media inquiries promptly (within reason)

This is a new role and we're excited to add to your experience and implement your ideas with this position.

Skills And Qualifications

  • Advanced Doctorate degree highly preferred (MD, DO, Psy.D), though we may consider candidates with a Masters or above who have extensive experience working and publishing in this space
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of direct experience working in the field of substance use/addiction treatment
  • Have been published by authoritative sources (e.g. CDC, NIDA, SAMHSA) and journals (e.g. Addiction, Journal of Addiction Medicine, Addiction Science & Clinical Practice, Drug and Alcohol Dependence, etc)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Established media relations a plus
