Mechanical Technician

Job Description

As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers , you will help us integrate, test, and document the assembly of a custom machine tool and all its related subsystems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of additively manufactured spaceflight and supporting hardware, continuous improvement, automation, and process development in this innovative industry. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manufacture, assemble, and test custom machine hardware according to written procedures, engineering models, work orders, drawings, and specifications
  • Setup new production work areas, including tooling and equipment
  • Perform second-party verifications and hardware inspections of engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written procedures
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control
  • Setup and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools including, but not limited to, torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser trackers, height gauges, and optical measuring instruments
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency
  • Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 5S, FOD, and ESD

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or other large/complex assembly manufacturing environment
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience
  • Interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, test procedures and P&IDs
  • Experience using common assembly and integration tools
  • Experience with verbal and written communication of technical data, results, and associated tools (confluence, MS-Office suite)
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
