JOB OVERVIEW:
As the Engineering Director/Manager, you will spearhead our global engineering initiatives,
focusing on the design and project engineering/management of our innovative processing
solutions. This role demands a high standard for product quality, process efficiency, and
compliance with international standards in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Leadership and Team Supervision: Lead the global engineering department, overseeing
a diverse team of Designers, Project Engineers, and Installation Technicians. Focus on
fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Project Engineering and Management: Utilize project management tools such as
Monday.com to oversee the entire lifecycle of engineering projects, from conceptual design to project execution. Manage technical requirements and ensure project deliverables meet
or exceed both internal and regulatory standards.
• Project Delivery and Installation: Oversee the detailed preparation and execution of
project plans, ensuring timely and accurate delivery against project specifications.
Supervise the creation and review of detailed 2D and 3D drawings to meet project
requirements. Ensure high-quality installation services, focusing on safety and adherence
to performance standards, and provide comprehensive system commissioning and training.
• Product Design Oversight: Direct the design processes of PROEX FOOD branded
equipment, ensuring all designs align with company standards and comply with relevant
safety regulations including CE and OSHA.
• Technical Support and CAD Administration: Provide high-level technical support to
internal teams and customers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly. Oversee
CAD and PDM systems to ensure consistency, accuracy, and control over project
documentation and revisions (owner of PDM system).
• Quality System Development and Management: Develop, implement, and manage
product and project quality systems, leveraging ISO standards as guidelines. Ensure that
all engineering outputs meet rigorous quality and compliance benchmarks.
• Support to CTO and Product Development: Collaborate with the Chief Technical Officer
on strategic product development initiatives, including defining product families and
technical specifications. Support sales efforts with technical drawings and documentation,
and assist in the estimation of project costs. Be engaged with the sourcing and management
of suppliers to support project and product requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Engineering Leadership: Proven experience in leading and guiding engineering teams,
with a preference for experience in a global setting. Demonstrated ability to inspire teams
towards achieving excellence and meeting project goals. Title commensurate on
experience.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in CAD software and project management
tools. Familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM) systems and a strong
understanding of design principles and engineering processes.
• Project Management: Extensive experience in managing engineering projects from
planning through to successful completion. Skilled in navigating projects of varying
complexities and ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards.
• Quality Assurance and Compliance: In-depth knowledge of ISO standards and quality
assurance processes. Ability to implement effective quality checks and continuous
improvement initiatives to maintain high standards of product and process quality.
• Supplier and Stakeholder Management: Experienced in managing supplier relationships
and effective collaboration with stakeholders across global teams. Ability to manage
technical and commercial aspects of supplier interactions.
• Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and
written, essential for effective teamwork and collaboration with international teams.
• Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Strong analytical skills and a data-driven
approach to decision-making. Demonstrated capability in solving complex problems
efficiently and innovatively.
• Innovation and Product Development: A passion for driving innovation within the
engineering domain, contributing to product development and optimizing engineering
workflows.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The responsibilities of this position require the employee to engage in various physical activities
necessary to perform all essential job functions successfully. This includes the frequent need
to sit, talk, hear, and manipulate objects using hands. Employees are regularly required to stand
and walk. Activities like stooping, bending, and reaching above the shoulders occur
occasionally. This role requires the ability to occasionally lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth
perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations may be made to
enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions effectively.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This role primarily operates in a manufacturing floor setting, which can involve exposure to
noise, machinery, and the need for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety
glasses, hard hats, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes, or work boots, and possibly a safety vest
depending on the site conditions. Additionally, the position entails local and international travel
to customer locations, which requires the ability to travel long distances by plane and car.
