Position Scope: The Mechanical Designer creates 3D SolidWorks models and assemblies that meet criteria set forth by Engineering and Product Management. Create detailed drawings of parts, applying correct tolerances and using industry standard (ASME Y14.5) drafting practices.
Job Description
Create 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorks
Create Detail drawing packages for manufacturing and assembly of products
Maintain, update and correct existing engineering data and drawings
Perform analysis on interaction between machine components and related fits and tolerances
Produce and/or assemble prototypes and samples
Other tasks assigned by management
Qualifications
Proficient with SolidWorks 3D modeling and detailing
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constant change
Self-directed individual who works well within a team environment
Strong mechanical intuition
Proficient with SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD
Education/Certification
Technical degree in mechanical design or in a similar discipline, or equivalent experience
SolidWorks certification (Nice to have)
Previous experience in the Outdoor Power Equipment or Power Tools industry is a plus
Experience working in a multi-channel retail business/industry is a plus
