Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in seeking a full-time Mechanical Design Engineer in Marietta, Georgia. A successful candidate will apply technical expertise in developing solutions to aircraft mechanisms design problems. Responsibilities for this position may include:
Development, test, and validation of mechanical designs.
Creation and/or modification of primary and secondary structure with 3-D models, assemblies, and installations.
Creation and/or modification of system requirements, interface/supplier control drawings, performance specifications, system checkout procedures, statements of work, trade studies, and component/ground/flight test plans.
Technical engineering support for manufacturing, installation, and testing at Lockheed Martin and external supplier facilities.
Conducting trade studies and evaluating alternatives - optimizing form, fit, and function of aircraft mechanical systems to include detail layouts, kinematics analysis, and airframe integration.
Design, develop, and finalization of structural and mechanical layouts with systems interfaces.
Assisting Program Engineering, Manufacturing, and Customers with all mechanism related issues for in flight and ground operations.
