Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing mechanical systems for High Rise Mixed-Use Buildings, Resorts, Hotels, Multi-Family, Entertainment and more while assisting the project engineer and design team.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Understand advanced mechanical/HVAC theory and calculations, mechanical system components and devices.
  • Have the ability to comprehend and implement inputs and directions from the project engineer.
  • Utilize software tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, Load and energy calculation software, and word processing/spreadsheet applications to support project designs.
  • Adhere to relevant codes, standards, and best practices in mechanical design.
  • Be able to develop and draft HVAC plans, sections, enlarged mechanical rooms and schedules.
  • Perform site visits to document existing conditions and as part of construction administration.
  • Develop the understanding of the components of the electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems that will affect the design and be able to coordinate those discipline requirements into the mechanical design.
  • Attend internal and client coordination meetings with senior staff.
  • Apply general engineering principles to develop problem solving abilities and technical expertise.
  • Learn the basics of project management and project budgets.
  • Expectation of technical and management growth to assume a more responsible role.
  • Take personal ownership of assigned tasks and ensure timely completion.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree and E.I.T. certification (required), PE preferred, along with relevant technical experience.
  • Previous experience in a professional A/E office, consulting firm, construction contractor, or equivalent.
  • Field experience is desirable.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, load and energy software, and basic word processing/spreadsheet programs.
  • Strong written, verbal, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
