The incumbent will serve as member of the Business Systems team and partner with internal and external SAP implementation teams to help ensure smooth and successful transition to SAP S/4HANA.
This highly exposed collaborative role will work closely with business stakeholders and functional and technical team members, to ensure integrity, consistency, and efficiency of data in all SAP master data domains and across platforms and business units.
The main purpose of this position is to assist with the formation and implementation of a robust and scalable master data framework, policies, and standards that build a system foundation for execution of business processes, provide support for making business decisions, and offer smart data hierarchies for Business Intelligence and Analytics.
The agile, data-passionate, and technology-enthusiastic candidate will leverage their manufacturing industry experience to empower business units (e.g., Product Development, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance, Sales/Marketing) with data governance skills throughout the end-to-end lifecycle of the products and use their IT background to help the Company adapt to new and beneficial technologies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Manage companywide processes (review, approve, deploy) around master data requests for the following SAP S/4HANA Master Data domains:
Manage master data around data modeling, data validation, data hierarchy management, and security of sensitive data
Lead/assist in data transformation and mapping activities for migration of legacy data to SAP
Collaborate with subject matter experts to define and implement data strategies, policies, controls, and programs to ensure the enterprise data is accurate, complete, secure, and reliable
Participate in formulating policies for master data key elements including naming conventions and develops course of action to ensure proper ongoing assignment and alignment with the rules
Be the master data liaison and point of contact for multiple business departments across the organization
Educate the organization about the role of the Master Data Management for the success of the SAP implementation project
Focus on maintaining a high-performance culture by explaining data challenges and providing appropriate training and insights through proactive communication and documentation
Conceptualize, develop, and communicate master data strategies in alignment with business needs
Tracks and monitor SAP master data dimensions and metrics and make recommendations for improvements and support or manage process improvement initiatives
Develop and deploy procedures to conduct periodic master mata audits with the goal to identify inconsistencies, unused or duplicate definitions, incomplete or corrupt data hierarchies and clean them up for better system performance and to enable users to optimize system capabilities
Develop and implement strategies to translate business requirements into acceptable data models to support design of data sources for reporting and BI solutions
Assist with data modeling, data profiling, data flow design and strategy between business application databases across multiple platforms
Ensure compliance with regulatory code where required (e.g., GS1, UPC, EAN) and contribute to the on-going development of Data Governance
Participate in projects to integrate business applications by gathering requirements and designing data exchange interfaces
Design and publish beneficial analysis and provide status reports to the functional areas for more efficient process performance and better decision making
Utilize Business Intelligence, SAP, and other analysis tools to generate value added information for key users in the business areas
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a concentration in Business, Finance, Computer Science or other related fields
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience with SAP in a CPG manufacturing environment
Recent experience with ERP system implementation (preferably SAP S/4HANA) and data mapping and transition from legacy system
Prior master data governance and administration experience or exposure
Experience working with company policies, internal guidelines, regulations, established practices, and industry standards
Ability to interact with business and IT resources to facilitate resolution of master data related issues
Exposure to business systems integrating with ERP (Forecasting, Demand Planning, Production Scheduling)
Proven analytical skills to properly evaluate and interpret cross-functional data standardization requirements
Must have a data driven approach to solving problems. Requires very strong quantitative skills and strong attention to detail
Good knowledge of business process documentation that includes prior experience with documenting workflows, processes, and requirements
Subject Matter Expert level in at least one of the following business areas: Product Lifecycle, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance, Sales, Accounting
Advance level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel (incl. pivot, lookups)
Understanding of relational and non-relational database concepts
Ability to write and execute queries will be considered a plus
Willing to learn Business Systems related technologies
Prior or recent experience in designing and deploying reports and/or BI solutions will be considered a plus
Prior or active software development background will be considered a plus
Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
Ability to orchestrate change and adjust to changing work environments, priorities, and goals
Ability to organize workload and the capacity to progress a range of tasks and projects at one time

- There is a team in place working on the hands on technical end of the implementation. Need someone to support, manage, scrub data to prepare for transition
- In the future this role could also utilize BI skills and database skills
- Expert in any form SAP and experience in managing data SAP S/4HANA
- Background in CPG (Consumer Packaged goods)
