Client Overview
Our client is a manufacturing company serving commercial, agricultural, and defense industries. They are seeking a Manufacturing Planner/Buyer to join their team!
Salary/Hourly Rate
$18 – $22/hr
Position Overview
The Manufacturing Planner/Buyer will perform all duties necessary for the purchasing and planning functions of the company. The Manufacturing Planner/Buyer handle reporting during management review, the progress of the criteria for effectiveness associated with the Planning and Purchasing Departments.
Responsibilities Of The Manufacturing Planner/Buyer
Reviewing and issuing approval of purchase orders for goods or services required
Following up on purchase orders in the system as well as the expediting of orders with vendors
Reviewing open PO report for past due items and follow up on open PO’s that can be considered closed
Assisting Sales/Estimating with support by getting pricing, delivery and vendor capability information as required
Reviewing ERP system generated planned purchase orders for materials and services and release necessary purchase orders
Assisting in the RFQ Process when additional information may be required from vendors
Verifying receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipments in error with suppliers
Reviewing input production data and system requirements to obtain information, such as materials, priorities, and personnel requirements
Requisition and maintenance of inventory materials and supplies to meet production demands
Running the MRP Planning module within Intuitive to develop planned work orders
Issuing dispatch lists to different work centers
Reviewing MODs and Quick Turn requirements and adjust schedule accordingly
Assisting in Contract Review Process to determine if new customer requirements can be met
Qualifications For The Manufacturing Planner/Buyer
A minimum of 2 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, MRP/ERP
Education Requirements
High School diploma or GED is required
APICS and/or CPIM training/certification is preferred but is not required
