Job Summary

This position will provide engineering support for plants and corporate programs encompassing productivity improvements, standardization of processes and manufacturing methods, business expansion of new product lines, installation and startup of new equipment, and introduction of new products.

This position is responsible for applying engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products. Functions performed may include determining the machines, equipment, and tools, and the sequence of operations necessary to perform production and assembly operations, recommending the design of production machines and other plant equipment and advising and assisting vendors with design problems in connection with tools, gauges, and equipment designed for use in manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate continuous improvement processes in manufacturing through the use of LEAN techniques which leads to efficient workflow, reduced plant waste, improved quality and targeted cost savings.
  • Identify, implement, and document process improvements including cycle time, tool life, process capability, and automation.
  • Participates in operational and mechanical trouble shooting in all process areas in the plant.
  • Assist plant maintenance department in finding solutions to repetitive or unusual problems and failures.
  • Responsible for identifying and prioritizing critical plant capital projects from inception to completion utilizing and managing contract engineering firms when required.
  • Assists in plant production and quality assurance while maintaining processes & maximizing machine performance, safety and quality.
  • Responsible for applying engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continually improve manufacturing processes and products.
  • Working alongside product engineering, validate product and manufacturing concepts with testing of product, processes and confirmation of manufacturability.
  • Assist in component evaluation for new products and new product testing including new tooling and equipment installation

5-10 years of related engineering experience in construction and manufacturing industry.

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field of study or experience.
