Primary Function:
The Manufacturing Engineer’s responsibilities include identifying areas for improvement, maintaining high levels of manufacturing and product quality, designing new products and processes, as well as ensuring cost-efficiently and conformance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for driving operational excellence and towards a LEAN Manufacturing environment
- Ability to utilize and train personnel on standard lean tools
- Works with the Engineering and Operations teams to develop manufacturing processes by studying requirements; researching, designing, modifying, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
- Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Create operational KPIs and reporting for site and corporate view
- Designs and builds tools and fixtures that assist with production.
- Ability to research the latest trends and opportunities towards innovation and production improvements.
- Experience with DFMEA, Reverse Engineering, FEA (Finite Element Analysis), SPC implementation, preventive maintenance program, develop the Prototype Control Plan and first pre-series(pilot) and serial production launch phase (Planning, Coordination, Production, Inspection, Logistic and Testing)
- Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
- Generating and modify component and assembly drawings using Solid Works/ AutoCad 2D and 3D models, experience generating STP
- Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
- Seek out pricing to vendors when working on new projects/designs.
- Create and Maintain Bill of Materials and Engineering Bill of Materials
- Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Provides manufacturing engineering information to management and teammates by answering questions and requests.
- Performs machine maintenance, diagnostics and repairs; when necessary, coordinates with vendors to perform maintenance and repair services.
- Completes design and development projects, and trains others on the processes.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing goals.
- Ability to work independently or as collaboration team
- Perform additional duties as needed.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated manufacturing engineering and lean principle applications.
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
- 5+ Years’ Related Experience
- Problem Solving and Analysis
- SolidWorks/ Auto Cad Expertise
- Lean/Six Sigma
- Continuous Learning and Improvement
- Project Management
- Knowledge of electrical power distribution and control technology highly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (emails, RFPs, reports) and the ability to effectively interact with all levels throughout the organization.
- Prior work experience within a manufacturing company.
- Familiarity with Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing routing.
