Position Objective: To oversee the development and management of HSMAI events and membership in the Greater Los Angeles market with strategic support from the HSMAI Greater Los Angeles Advisory Board.


Primary Responsibilities:


•     Program Development – oversee the development and production of educational programs and events.

•    Leadership Development – facilitate the meetings of the Advisory Board and ensure that volunteer roles are sourced and developed.

•     Membership Development and Communication – encourage membership in HSMAI and develop the communication plan to all members and prospective members in the market.

•     Partnership Development – identify and solicit financials sponsors for HSMAI Greater Los Angeles.

•     Administrative & Financial Management – manage the processes for event registration, web site, and revenue and expenses associated with HSMAI Greater Los Angeles.


Estimated time:

35-40 hours per month on average; time may fluctuate around events as scheduled by this individual.


Skills Required:

•     The ability to discern market specific issues and challenges and convert them into educational programs and opportunities for the HSMAI chapter in the market.

•     A strong sense of personal organization and business acumen is required to ensure the HSMAI brand in the Greater Los Angeles market is administered with a sustainable business model, meeting the needs of HSMAI stakeholders in the market.

•     Existing relationships with market leaders and desire to develop them and others into chapter volunteer leaders.

•     A strong understanding and commitment to HSMAI’s mission, structure, and programs.

•     The ability to oversee & manage an Advisory Board

•     Detail oriented ability to multi-task

•     Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

•     Collaborative style

•     Solid decision-making skills

•     Good listener

•     Ability to recognize when others need to be involved in activities or decisions

•     High competency in Outlook and Microsoft Office Excel, Word and PowerPoint required.


Other:

•     Travel may be necessary for selected HSMAI Americas events & the HSMAI Chapter Leadership Conference

•     Participate in programs and activities that would further the goals of HSMAI Greater Los Angeles

•     Establish and maintain relationships with other industry, service, or professional associations as are appropriate or necessary
