The Manager of Special Events reports to the Development Director as part of the Cancer Hope Network Development team. This position will oversee and manage all duties related to the planning and execution of Cancer Hope Network’s fundraising and special events portfolio, as well as peer-to-peer and third-party fundraisers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage, plan, and execute Cancer Hope Network’s full portfolio of annual special events, as well as oversee additional events including fundraising, donor cultivation and stewardship events, and other events.
Collaborate with the Development Director on strategic direction for events to ensure strong financial outcomes and growth by setting fundraising targets, managing event budgets, creating timelines, identifying target audiences, and contributing to event messaging and marketing.
Develop and maintain relationships with sponsors, donors, Board members, and volunteers.
Manage marketing strategies and collateral development for all events, including invitations, sponsorship materials, marketing calendars, registration websites, social media content, press releases, A/V presentations, and signage.
Assist with selection, contract negotiation, invoicing, and payment for partners and vendors such as venues, catering, mobile bidding, A/V services, photography/videography, and entertainment.
Coordinate on-site event operations and logistics, including catering, vendor, volunteer, and staff management, venue setup, and auction/raffle facilitation.
Collaborate with the Development team, donors, committees, and Board to develop sponsorship packages, and secure event sponsorships from previous and new partners.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in fundraising events management
Exceptional organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of fundraising events principles, techniques, and best practices
Proficient in Blackbaud RENXT
