Maintenance Manager

Job Description

The purpose of the Maintenance Manager position is to plan, lead and direct all activities supporting the maintenance of the buildings, equipment, and related facilities and systems and perform related work to ensure maximum production quantity and quality. Reporting to the Director of Operations – this position is responsible for supporting the development and execution of a strategic facility and equipment plan to support a manufacturing operation experiencing rapid growth rates.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Build and continuously focus on developing a strong quality team - Hire, train, and develop maintenance technicians while providing clear and consistent expectations of performance results and behavior tied to our company values
  • Manage and lead overall expectations pertaining to facility and equipment performance, priorities, budget and costs
  • Establish and maintain a culture of high urgency to ensure production equipment is running as needed
  • Actively participate in leadership team and support continuous improvement efforts
  • Participate in safety reviews
  • Ensure compliance to safe work practices
  • Lead or provide oversight for major facility or equipment projects
  • Manage Maintenance Work Order System
  • Oversee all plant equipment performance related to uptime and downtime
  • Project planning and execution for Continuous Improvement and Automation initiatives
  • Source, quote and negotiate pricing for equipment and repairs
  • Training and communication with maintenance team on the PM protocols of the facility
  • Oversee emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Initiate and participate, as needed in internal problem solving / improvement activities
  • Support new product development activities with assessment of new packaging running on existing production lines

Qualification Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of 10-15 years of maintenance / facility management experience in a manufacturing operations environment which includes a minimum of 5 years in leadership role
  • Pharmaceutical, Cosmetic or Food Plant experience.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong communication skills required (Written, Verbal, Presentation).
  • Positive attitude and use of a pragmatic approach in driving risk-based analysis and decisions
  • Must be flexible and able to work in fast paced environment with changing priorities
  • Demonstrated initiative, persistence and creativity in problem solving
  • Experience with Program / Project Management
  • Must demonstrate excellent business and personal ethics.
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
