A well-established organization is seeking an experienced Senior Collection Specialist / Lead Collector with a background in collections support to secure payment arrangements and lead a team of collection agents.
**Responsibilities Include:**
Pursue payment collection on overdue accounts.
Compile a roster of individuals with outstanding payments.
Organize the list based on the severity of delinquency.
Engage in discussions with customers to establish feasible repayment plans.
Manage the Repossession Process and evaluate repossession orders when necessary.
Maintain detailed records of each contact attempt and its outcome.
Create payoff letters upon customer request.
Demonstrate adept multitasking skills for handling multiple cases.
Identify account status and use appropriate collection techniques.
Comply with collection policies, various state and federal laws, rules, and regulations governing credit and collections.
Locate customers through acceptable skip-tracing techniques.
Analyze customer financial information.
Apply payments received to proper accounts and make necessary adjustments or corrections.
Determine the most effective means of collecting for each account.
**Requirements:**
3-5 years of Recovery/Post Charge-Off Collections experience.
Smart, resourceful, and a creative problem solver.
Stable employment record.
Ability to maintain outstanding attendance at all times.
Detail-oriented and outstanding organizational skills.
Basic data entry and typing skills.
A college cegree is a plus.
Proficiency in both English and Spanish.
Basic knowledge of accounting.
Proficient with Excel.
Being independent is a definite asset for this role.
