Lead Collections Specialist

Job Description

A well-established organization is seeking an experienced Senior Collection Specialist / Lead Collector with a background in collections support to secure payment arrangements and lead a team of collection agents.

**Responsibilities Include:**

• Pursue payment collection on overdue accounts.
• Compile a roster of individuals with outstanding payments.
• Organize the list based on the severity of delinquency.
• Engage in discussions with customers to establish feasible repayment plans.
• Manage the Repossession Process and evaluate repossession orders when necessary.
• Maintain detailed records of each contact attempt and its outcome.
• Create payoff letters upon customer request.
• Demonstrate adept multitasking skills for handling multiple cases.
• Identify account status and use appropriate collection techniques.
• Comply with collection policies, various state and federal laws, rules, and regulations governing credit and collections.
• Locate customers through acceptable skip-tracing techniques.
• Analyze customer financial information.
• Apply payments received to proper accounts and make necessary adjustments or corrections.
• Determine the most effective means of collecting for each account.
  
  

**Requirements:**

• 3-5 years of Recovery/Post Charge-Off Collections experience.
• Smart, resourceful, and a creative problem solver.
• Stable employment record.
• Ability to maintain outstanding attendance at all times.
• Detail-oriented and outstanding organizational skills.
• Basic data entry and typing skills.
• A college cegree is a plus.
• Proficiency in both English and Spanish.
• Basic knowledge of accounting.
• Proficient with Excel.
• Being independent is a definite asset for this role.
