Allpoints Surveying is seeking a Land Survey Technician to join our growing team in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and detail-oriented with an inquisitive mindset. The Land Survey Technician is tasked with performing boundary analysis and calculations, verifying field work, identifying errors or inconsistencies, and checking guidelines to verify that field work falls within jurisdictional, community, and/or builder-specific requirements.

Job Responsibilities Include

  • Import field data into base drawing files that can be utilized by the Drafting team.
  • Create base drawing files in AutoCad to utilize for required work tasks, providing necessary calculations, as appropriate.
  • Create new field tasks as necessary to correct and/or provide clarity on jobs, as needed.
  • Perform quality control reviews of previous work as required or upon request.
  • Maintain records of observations and other key metrics related to quality control, while identifying and recommending solutions, improvements, and updates.
  • Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • A one-year certificate, Associate Degree, or equivalent in Land Surveying or Data Base Entry from a two-year college or technical school is preferred.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of Land Surveying, Field Survey Party Chief, or AutoCAD experience is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • A high degree of attention to detail is required.
  • Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess mathematical aptitude.

Working Conditions

This role follows a five-day workweek, with employees expected to work in our Houston, TX office from Monday to Friday. This position is remote work-eligible after a one-year period and upon meeting expected performance standards.
