The IT Project Manager is responsible for coordinating all activities regarding hardware, networking, storage, and servers in the Agency. Key functions include IT Help Desk and User Support, Network Engineering, Projects, Initiatives, and IT Administration duties. Additional responsibilities include contracting services, equipment refresh, scheduling, and taking responsibility for all areas of providing network support, including performing changes, configuration, support, and operations.

Assistance with Tier 1 End User desktop support, including server tickets, phone system tickets, connectivity issues, facility & gate access issues, camera support, Trapeze / TripSpark support (Laketran & Geauga locations)
Network Engineering duties including server backups & disaster recovery; Active Directory design, maintenance & upgrades; Cradlepoint support and maintenance; server hardware support, maintenance and upgrades; network infrastructure design, support and troubleshooting; WiFi design, support, security and troubleshooting; CyberSecurity methodology, testing, training and implementation; Firewall support, maintenance and upgrades; In-bus connectivity design, upgrades and troubleshooting
IT Projects & Initiatives including Trapeze, TripSpark passenger counter implementation; stop annunciator upgrades and implementation; Hanover Displays in bus and Transit Center customer signage systems; system enhancements and upgrades (i.e. Wi-Fi and bus security network upgrades); biometrics and single-sign-on for network resources; offsite data repository for redundant backups; ShoreTel Mitel phone system upgrades and enhancements; bus security NVR enhancements
IT Administration duties including R&D for alternative & best business solutions; collaborate with service providers and vendors to resolve problems relating to network and effect appropriate solutions for the right connectivity, hardware and software; meetings; budgeting and bill paying; system documentation, development, and maintenance; ad-hoc reporting
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Deploy hardware, including servers, workstations, switches, UPSs, and routers, following direction from the Director of Information Technology
Provide assistance in finding potential problems with network architecture/design and reporting them to the Director of Information Technology for further investigation
Perform analysis and monitoring of network availability and performance over expectations; carry out performance tuning and assist in troubleshooting network issues; make network performance reports and statistics available
Perform monitoring and auditing functions to ensure enterprise security procedures and policies are complied with; ensure violations are promptly reported to the Director of Information Technology
Conduct network modeling and analysis to construct a reliable, high-performance integrated network
Direct system installation
Program routers, switches, and other network hardware
Configure and maintain DNS servers
Maintain firewall integrity and manage security events related to potential attacks
Manage owned domain names
Schedule updates and upgrades related to servers, workstations and agency IT gear
Ensure confidentiality in handling information being accessed, processes, or stored through Agency network resources
Provide training and assistance to system users on usage of new network services or/and applications and other relevant applications
Serve as one to be relied upon in the event of an emergency
Provide assistance in evaluating and analyzing new network software, hardware, and communication equipment to be sure they are compatible and applicable to the company’s operations before they are recommended
Responsible for testing new software and/or hardware from third parties
Remain updated of new technologies and developments in IT & Transit industries
Carry out other job related tasks that may be assigned.
Manage, support and perform Hyper-V and server upgrades as required
Support of O365 software environment
Building access network and server management for all sites
Maintain and support video surveillance systems for all sites
Support LOB software and hardware solutions from various vendors
Maintain and support Netskope SASE (Secure Access Services Edge)
Maintain and support Android devices
Tablet remote support administrator of DriverMate end points

Required Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field required. Minimum 5 years’ experience in information technology management, preferably in a public agency or similar environment.
· Certifications in Extreme Networks, VMWare, Microsoft, NetSkope (SASE), and Cybersecurity are desired.

This job typically operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. May work within an enclosed vehicle storage facility, vehicle maintenance facility, and in the field.
