Investment Finance Manager

Location: Boston, MA

This leadership position will oversee the accounting and operations for multiple general partner entities. Responsibilities include guiding non-accounting functions, actively participating in team planning and development, and leading major initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Partnership Operations: Manage operations and administrative activities, including cash management, capital calls, distributions, reconciliations, bank account openings, regulatory compliance, and handling investor contribution and redemption requests.
  2. Financial Allocations: Oversee carry, vesting, and profit/loss allocations to partners and General Partner entity members.
  3. Reporting: Conduct quarterly and annual fair market value reporting, supporting documentation for capital accounts, trial balances, and other financial reconciliations.
  4. Tax Management: Handle quarterly tax estimates and annual tax books/reporting, consulting with internal and external tax advisors.
  5. Accounting Entries: Record cash, book, and tax activities using Investran or similar fund accounting software.
  6. Investor Interaction: Engage with investors and internal departments regarding the carry program, policy matters, investor reporting, and ad-hoc inquiries.
  7. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other managers to drive initiatives, create efficiencies, and mentor junior team members.
  8. Project Management: Collaborate on projects with all levels, from associates to Partners, to enhance team and firm performance.

Qualifications:

  1. Experience: 7-12 years of accounting experience in the financial services industry.
  2. A solid understanding of investments and partnerships.
  3. Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  4. Certifications: CPA and/or Master’s Degree preferred.
  5. Experience: Background in public accounting, partnerships, and/or financial services.
  6. Skills: Strong project management and organizational skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  7. Management: Experience managing direct reports.
  8. Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
