Instructor of World Languages with competencies in French and Spanish
Teaching duties in the introductory French and Spanish sequences
Renewable, non-tenure track
Duties/Responsibilities
Teach four 3-credit courses per semester
Coordinate syllabus and other academic work with language program coordinator
Assess students and record grades in a timely manner
Provide assessment data for accreditation, as needed
Attend departmental meetings and school events
Encourage beginning language students to continue their study of World Languages
Native or near-native proficiency in English, French, and Spanish
Commitment to proficiency-based language instruction methodologies
Education, Certificates, Licenses, & Experience
Minimum Education Requirement
Masters degree in Spanish or French (or related field)
Minimum Work Experience
Teaching experience as instructor-of-record in the language classroom preferred
Experience with Learning Management System software (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas)
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. (not required)
Masters (required)
Physical Requirements
Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines
Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and virtually. Near vision sufficient to read written communications and computer display screens
Stamina to teach at least 12 hours weekly.
