Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Business Development executive to help shape the future of moving at Porch.

In this role, you will lead all aspects of business development, including market research, prospecting, go-to-market strategies, contract negotiations, and managing newly onboarded accounts. You will help deliver our industry-leading moving products and services to new partners and collaborate with internal teams to guide our direction.

As the Head of Business Development, you’re an owner. You’re responsible for the vision, strategy, and execution of our business development efforts. This role requires you to combine your passion for partnerships with strong cross-functional collaboration and organizational skills to drive progress and achieve results.

What You Will Do As A Head of Business Development, Moving Group

  • Own all aspects of business development, including market research, prospecting, outreach, negotiation, onboarding, and account management.
  • Develop and execute our business development strategy, including identifying prospective industries and high-value accounts to target.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams including marketing and product to ensure alignment and support for partnership-related initiatives.
  • Manage the onboarding process for new partners to ensure their success by addressing their needs and resolving any issues.
  • Travel to visit prospects and attend conferences
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospects across varying stages of the funnel.
  • Lead contract negotiations with prospective partners to secure mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Refine our messaging and go-to-market, including key selling points, collateral, and prospect engagement strategies.
  • Collaborate with our product team to identify and prioritize new features and offerings that address partner needs.
  • Track and measure the performance of partnerships, identifying areas for optimization and growth.

What You Will Bring As A Head of Business Development, Moving Group

  • 8+ years of experience in business development or business partnerships.
  • Experience in the moving or corporate relocation industry is preferred.
  • Experience leveraging CRM to manage your prospects and pipeline.
  • Track record of securing large accounts and deals worth $500K+ in annual revenue.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively alongside cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, and operations, to ensure the success of prospective accounts.
  • The ability to understand the needs of each partner and recommend optimal products and services.
  • Top-notch communication skills, including crafting compelling proposals and presentations that win buy-in from potential partners and build strong rapport and trust.
  • Adept negotiation skills to secure mutually beneficial partnership agreements.
  • Experience with go-to-market strategies, including refining messaging and value props and an understanding of effective challenges for reaching prospects.
  • Strong organizational skills with proficiency leveraging a CRM to manage your prospects and pipeline.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher preferred.

What You Will Get As A Porch Group Team Member

Pay Range*: $106,500- $149,100 Annually

  • Please know your actual pay at Porch will reflect a number of factors among which are your work experience and skillsets, job-related knowledge, alignment with market and our Porch employees, as well as your geographic location.

Additionally, you will be eligible to receive long-term incentive awards, subject to program guidelines and approvals.

You will also be eligible to receive sales incentives, subject to program guidelines and approvals.
