Graduation and Certification Coordinator

Number of Direct Reports: 1 Graduate Student Worker

Target Weekly Hours: 40

Location: 2807 N Glebe Road (Main Campus)

Management of graduation review process for all applicants for graduation, including full degree audit review and student and school notification of the review results. Completes and composes certification letters for all students, including international students. University representative to external agencies for sponsored students. Collaborates with Marymount’s academic colleges and International Student & Scholar Services office to serve the needs of sponsored students. Assists with answering telephones, walk-in students, faculty and staff, and responds to inquires in the Registrar email account. Performs updates to student records, including but not limited to processing registration overrides, withdrawal requests, academic requirement overrides, FERPA waivers, and grade changes.

The salary range for this position is $48,000 - $50,000/year.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administer degree audit review of all applicants for graduation in consultation with advisors and associate deans at several points prior to degree conferral.
  • Notifies students and schools of degree audit results.
  • Completes and composes certification letters and forms for all students (often custom letters) including international student requests in collaboration with schools and International Student & Scholar Services office.
  • University representative to external agencies for sponsored students.
  • Attends on- and off-campus events and meetings pertaining to sponsored students.
  • Customer service responsibilities including inquires in the Sponsored Students email account, answering telephones, walk-in students, faculty and staff, and responds to inquires in the Registrar email account.
  • Performs updates to student records, including but not limited to processing registration overrides, withdrawal requests, academic requirement overrides, FERPA waivers, and grade changes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS, etc.)

Experience: 1-2 years of job related experience in higher education preferred

Licenses or Certifications: None

Financial Responsibility: None

Supervision: Supervisory experience preferred

Special Knowledge: Microsoft software, proficiency with student records systems (Workday) preferred, knowledge of FERPA preferred.
