The Grade Checker plays a vital role in our civil construction projects, specifically responsible for verifying that site grading adheres to project specifications using advanced surveying tools such as Trimble GPS and Leica ICON systems. This position ensures accurate implementation of the planned grade and elevation throughout the construction process.

Responsibilities

• Grade Measurement: Operate Trimble GPS and Leica ICON surveying systems to accurately determine and verify the grade of construction sites.
• Data Analysis and Implementation: Analyze site measurements against project plans and specifications. Provide real-time feedback and guidance to earthmoving equipment operators to adjust grade as necessary.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with project managers, and construction teams to ensure grading activities are aligned with project goals. Communicate effectively any changes or adjustments that need to be made on-site.
• Compliance and Quality Control: Monitor all grading activities to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards. Ensure that all grading work meets the precise specifications of the project.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all grade checks, adjustments, and other relevant activities to ensure traceability and compliance with project documentation requirements.
• Problem Resolution: Quickly identify and resolve any discrepancies between the graded site and the project plans, initiating corrective measures in a timely manner to avoid delays in project timelines.
  
  

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a grade checking or related role within the civil construction industry is required.
• Experienced in operating GPS-based surveying and grading equipment, with a strong preference for those proficient in Trimble GPS and Leica ICON.
• Excellent analytical skills for interpreting construction plans and real-time data to make accurate grade adjustments.
• Strong communication skills to effectively convey information to various stakeholders on the construction site.
• Attention to detail and commitment to achieving precision in all survey and grading tasks.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced construction environment.
  
  

The compensation will vary based on experience ranging between $30-$35 per hour.
