The primary responsibilities of the General Accountant are to assist in the daily processing of in the operations group in an efficient manner and to ensure the timely collection of cash from accounts receivables. The general accountant will also assist in certain duties of the operation’s group (sales admin, AP,AR, Purchasing, reporting as needed and inventory control).
Responsibilities
Daily sales order processing and answering questions regarding invoicing
Invoice out project orders
Assist or back up for entering AP invoices into the System.
Review and assist as needed in contracts for larger projects.
Ability to perform weekly check run in ERP System
Entering of fixed assets into ERP System
Back up in Warehouse on a limited basis
Back up in Purchasing on a limited basis
Back up in Sales Support on a limited basis
Assist with quality control of entries in the ERP system (Q360)
Correct problem sales orders as needed
Make collection calls to past due accounts, hand off problem accounts to the accounting manager.
Assist and prepare monthly sales tax reports
Pick up morning mail when needed
Assist with other general ledger reconciliation on a monthly basis
Assist with audit work papers
See billing assistant for more duties.
Ability to setup states and sales tax accounts within those states
Requirements
Occasional evening and weekend work.

Computer skills (Q360 knowledge a plus)
Microsoft Office suite of products, more specifically Excel
Communications skills and friendly phone manner

Education/Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
2 years of experience preferred
Physical Demands
Remaining in a stationary position, often sitting for prolonged periods.
Ability to enter text or data into a computer or other machine by means of a traditional keyboard or 10-Key.
Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (that is, working with small objects or reading small print), including use of computers.
Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech both in person, by telephone or other technology.
Successful 1 Year Expected Outcomes:
Ability to master the operations total work flow from sales order entry through the billings collections process.
Learn the Q360 ERP system to assist in reporting and quality control.
Assist in the yearly audit.
Ability to perform project invoicing
Ability to perform the creation of service contracts
Ability to cut POs as needed
Ability to perform a check run as needed
