Jacksonville Golf & Country Club is excited to announce an exceptional career opportunity for a Food and Beverage Director.

Jacksonville Golf & Country Club is a private-member owned golf and country club located in beautiful Jacksonville, Florida with a short 10-minute drive from the beaches. Members and their guests enjoy clubhouse dining, golf (of course), heated Olympic size swimming pool, tennis with 10 lighted Har-Tru clay courts, fitness, and playground. The championship golf course was designed by both Clyde Johnston and Fuzzy Zoeller and is a big draw to membership. Our Members enjoy the private country club experience in four separate dining venues. The 26,000 square foot clubhouse overlooks the #9 and #18 greens of the lush green golf course.

$75k annual salary, depending on experience, plus $7500 performance bonus potential.

Job Purpose

Provide excellence in products, services, cost controls and sales in the Front and Back of House Food & Beverage Operation such as: Dining Rooms, Banquet Room, Bar, Veranda, Patio, Wine Room, Café’, Decks, Pool side and on the Beverage Cart through the implementation of fair, firm, and consistent interaction to ensure the Club’s goals are achieved.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Participate in the responsibility to hire, train, direct and supervise all FOH F&B employees.
  • Establish and maintain a F&B Manual, which reflects the Club's service standards and presentation while conforming to State Health Department Codes.
  • Establish and maintain beverage procurement guidelines, Liquor Control Board requirements and observe responsible alcohol beverage service to protect from liability.
  • Work in tandem with Clubhouse Manager, Executive Chef, Catering Manager, Food and Beverage Manager (as well as the supporting Team members) in maintaining cleanliness and organization in all F&B areas. Wait Stations, Bars and other Service Areas are of utmost importance.
  • Complete opening and closing checklists.
  • Prepare and submit weekly employee schedules. Adjust actual schedules to ensure efficient use of employees.
  • Create, promote, organize and service F&B activities and events for the enjoyment of the Membership.
  • Implement sustainable practices, such as reducing waste, sourcing locally, and promoting eco-friendly products.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new ideas and practices into the F&B operations.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement improvement plans as needed.
  • Attend and participate in the weekly department and other periodic employee meetings.
  • Plan, organize and manage daily activity.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Assist with developing and managing the department’s budget, ensuring cost control, and maximizing profitability.
  • Manage and monitor daily accurate activity and financial requirements, ordering of products, stock levels and monthly inventory.
  • Conduct daily walk-through to ensure the facility is safe and presentable and that courtesy and efficiency are being exercised throughout.
  • Protect the assets of the Club.
  • Operate within the guidelines, policies, standards, and constraints as established by Hampton Golf.
  • Maintain Food Handlers Certificate.

Qualifications

Culinary or hospitality degree OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
