Epidemiologist I

Summary:

Seeking an Epidemiologist, I with a Specialty in Colors and Cosmetics to apply epidemiology that emphasizes the application of epidemiologic tools and frameworks, for developing and implementing scientific information and new materials into the Document and Control System. Gather and organize information from cosmetic products-related databases and other data sources that describe scientific studies related to cosmetics use, and the incidence and prevalence of cosmetics-related health issues. Develop SOPs for this process.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Records Management and File Plan Update
• Develop and implement a structure for reorganizing and archiving correspondence as well as scientific and other material in the agency's Document and Control System in preparation for transfer to a new records management system. Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure efficient use of the new archiving structure. Work with OCAC staff to familiarize them with the SOPs and address questions related to the new archiving structure.
• Stay abreast of OCAC publications, reports, summaries and presentations. Compile documentation and update record tracking of materials associated with OCAC activities and publications. This will include ensuring compliance with records management requirements.
• Gather and organize information from cosmetic products-related databases and other data sources that describe scientific studies related to cosmetics use, and the incidence and prevalence of cosmetics-related health issues.
• Develop SOPs for this process.
  
  

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

• Skill in coordination with scientific knowledge and in reviewing or preparing regulatory documents for Document and Control Systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, as demonstrated by experience as serving as a spokesperson, coauthoring Federal Register documents, guidance documents or policy statements or labeling strategies.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
• Excellent oral and written skills in English
  
  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be able to get clearance for Common Access Card (CAC)
• B.S. to Masters (2-5 years’ experience) Degree: biostatistics, health science, physical sciences, life sciences, and/or Epidemiology.
• Excellent computer and organizational skills.
  
  

The salary range for this position is $80,000.00-$112,000.00 annually.
