"e" inc. is a non-profit organization based in Boston, MA, dedicated to promoting science literacy and environmental stewardship among children and youth, particularly those from low-income backgrounds. Our hands-on science education programs engage students in active learning and empower them to take action to protect the planet. We provide robust science education, involve students in meaningful action projects, and boost the self-esteem of participants. Our programs are delivered in day schools, after-school settings, teen teams, and summer camps. Through our initiatives, we aim to create science-literate 'doers' who are capable of making positive changes in their communities and beyond."

Role Description

This is a full-time role starting August 1, 2024 for an Environmental Science Educator at "e" inc. The Environmental Science Educator will be responsible for delivering hands-on science education programs to children and youth in various settings. This includes teaching about beings, biomes, resources, and systems that drive the planet. Educators will have 5-6 sites a week that they will teach at, all in the greater Boston area. Some remote work is acceptable, but the role is primarily located in Boston, MA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Education, or a related field
• Experience in lesson planning
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Passion for environmental stewardship and promoting science literacy among children and youth
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Experience working with groups of children
• Having a car and drivers license is preferred
