Role
We seek an experienced Systems Engineer to join our team to work for an exciting project in electrification, working from the Savannah, Georgia vicinity. In this role, you will:
Apply knowledge of multidisciplinary processes and systems engineering methodology and techniques to support all phases of system development, with emphasis on planning, analysis, evaluation, integration, testing, and acceptance phases
Create and maintain safety procedures for high-voltage equipment
Design wiring and interfaces for high-voltage equipment, including battery management systems, e-axle, and inverters
Selection of tools and processes to support each phase of system development
Systems integration, testing, requirements authoring, simulation, leading complex projects
Support development, validation and management of stakeholder needs and system architecture and design
Perform feasibility studies and trade analysis on concepts
Support development, validation, and management of systems/subsystems requirements
Integrate subsystems and components within boundaries, as well as system into product
Supplier selection and management
Report status of appropriate process and technical performance metrics according to the frequency and processes set by the customer
Facilitate and document change management and action item tracking, risk analysis activities, and interface analysis (definition and agreement)
Support validation and verification activities via the development of test suites and test cases, development and execution of test plans, V&V reporting and tracking, and defect management
Participate in cross-functional team meetings and management review group meetings
Apply system thinking and system engineering processes
Follow common problem-solving techniques
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering and minimum of 2 years of directly applicable systems engineering experience is required, vehicle electrification and trailer background would be ideal
Experienced in FMEA, DFMEA
Experienced in stakeholder/requirements analysis and translation
Understanding of HIL systems and other testing concepts
Experience in controls systems for automotive, aircraft/aerospace, commercial vehicles/trailers, medical device, or related sectors
Working knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink, StateFlow, LabVIEW
Knowledge of functional safety (ISO 26262 or equivalent standard) is highly desirable
