This is a bargaining unit position represented by a Union.
The selectee will be required to complete the Snake River Area Office sub-operator cross training program within one year of beginning the instructional program. Failure to successfully complete the training will result in removal from Federal service. The selectee will initially be placed at the rate of $54.94 per hour and upon successful completion of the training program, the selectee may be promoted without further competition to an Electrician/Operator at the full performance rate of $57.14 per hour.

Duties
- Installs, modifies, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, and tests new and existing hydroelectric power equipment including but not limited to: generators, motors and controllers, power and distribution transformers, power metering, circuit breakers, disconnects, and switches.
- Installs electrical equipment, conduit, wiring, control devices, annunciator panels, and circuitry devices, and makes terminations in accordance with electrical drawings.
- Tests installed systems and makes modifications, adjustments and settings as required.
- Using appropriate drawings and prints, installs and wires switchboards devices in a neat, legible, timely and safe manner.
