JOB SUMMARY:

As an Electrical Apprentice you will be an integral part of our manufacturing team, responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment. Under the guidance of experienced electricians, you will gain practical hands-on experience and develop the skills necessary to become a qualified electrician.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in accordance with local and national electrical codes.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine wiring layouts and specifications.
  • Assist in troubleshooting electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.
  • Assist in the inspection and testing of electrical systems and components to ensure functionality and compliance with safety standards.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Work Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience installing and repairing electrical equipment


Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred but not required: Certificate of completion from a trades school program or an associate’s degree in a related field. Previous education in a recognized apprenticeship program or vocational training in electrical systems.


Related Experience:

  • Basic understanding of electrical principles and wiring techniques.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment safely and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and take directions from experienced electricians.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee sometimes works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, and heights. When participating in activities on the shop floor, the noise level in the work environment is typical for a fabrication shop and ear plugs may be used as necessary.
