SCOPE: The Senior Purchasing Lead is responsible for leading the development and implementation of sound, cost-effective strategies for purchasing the necessary equipment, services, materials, and supplies used throughout the organization. This position will evaluate spending operations while seeking ways to improve and enhance the quality of products purchased and the timeliness of deliveries to support organizational objectives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitoring purchasing performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing process enhancements to drive continuous improvement and achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness.
Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
Streamlining purchasing processes to improve efficiency, reduce lead times, and minimize costs.
Leading strategic sourcing initiatives to identify and qualify new suppliers, assess market opportunities, and optimize sourcing strategies for key categories of goods and services.
Administer and maintain online purchasing systems.
Identifying and mitigating risks associated with purchasing activities, such as supply chain disruptions, price fluctuations, and quality issues.
Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing vendor performance to ensure timely delivery, quality, and cost-effectiveness of goods and services.
The development and implementation of procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals and budgetary constraints.
Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers.
Oversees the processes to ensure purchasing and record-keeping comply with any applicable standards and regulations.
Assists in providing documents for outside Auditors.
Leading the purchasing Team to provide guidance, coaching, and support to foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Monitor purchasing processes and supply chain opportunities, intervening as required to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
Collaborating with department heads, finance, and operations, to understand their purchasing needs, priorities, and challenges.
To provide BIG Service to guests and ensure their complete satisfaction, inclusive of greeting and interacting with guests in a friendly and enthusiastic manner, anticipating and meeting guest needs and preferences, remaining calm and professional when dealing with guests that are difficult or upset.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance highly preferred.
Purchasing Lead experience required.
High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred.
Internal candidates must have been in their current position for at least six months and have no active disciplinary action during the last six months.
Ability to work a variety of shifts, this includes day, swing, late-night, weekend, and holiday shifts as scheduled.
Must be able to travel as required for meetings, conferences, race meets, and other business needs.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid gaming/racing license.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must pass any and all required background checks.
