Director of Financial Reporting

Client is one of the largest carriers in its niche; offering life, annuity, LTC and disability products. The client has a long history, a focus on charitable giving and a mission of providing excellent care to its members. This carrier has attracted a number of high quality associates with strong accounting and Big 4 backgrounds. Due to a recent promotion, the client is seeking a Director of Financial Reporting who will be a key executive and contributor to the oversight of general accounting, investment accounting, and financial statement preparation. In this role, you'll also be a key part in a systems/platform upgrade. This role is certainly appropriate for someone who wants to make an impact on the financial, systems and controls side and who values a visible role. If you have public/private experience from the insurance space or are a recent Sr. Manager from public, you may want to consider this role as the next step. • Monthly, quarterly and annual report preparation for senior management.
• Specialized accounting reviews for senior management.
• Recommendations for financial process improvement
• Monitor, assess and apply relevant accounting changes under U.S. GAAP, Statutory and IFRS accounting.
• Works with internal and external auditors, including preparation of the quarterly MAR testing required
• Public accounting knowledge and experience ideal
