Holly Poultry has been providing poultry to the Baltimore area for more than 60 years. Today, Holly Poultry's geographic reach has expanded across the Mid-Atlantic and into the Northeast, selling to a wide variety of customers from small intercity grocery stores to national restaurant chains and foodservice distributors.

The Director of Finance will be responsible for all aspects of finance including month end close, statutory compliance activity, forecasting and strategic planning processes and weekly KPI development and monitoring.

We are looking for an innovative leader to lead the continued transformation of the Finance function as a business partner supporting our future growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives. Collaborate with senior leadership to create long-term financial plans, budgets, and forecasts aligned with ownership objectives.
  • Resource Management: Evaluate investment opportunities, manage capital allocation, and assess ROI on various projects. Collaborate with stakeholders to create informative business cases to support prioritize the allocation of resources across the various divisions.
  • Performance Analysis: Conduct comprehensive financial analyses to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Present actionable recommendations to optimize operational efficiency, revenue generation, and cost management.
  • Financial Operations: Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger. Streamline processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and variance analysis. Provide senior management with clear and concise financial insights to support decision-making.
  • Risk Management: Evaluate financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Implement robust internal controls, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Leadership: Embed a culture of curiosity to create a high performing finance team that can quickly evolve as the business changes, while maintaining internal controls and compliance requirements. Delegate tasks effectively, provide guidance, and facilitate professional development to support creative problem solving.
  • Innovation: Stay abreast of advancements in financial technology and tools. Encourage the team to identify opportunities to implement systems and tools that improve financial processes, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Proactively engages with both internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, auditors, vendors, and customers. Building strong relationships to ensure financial goals are met and compliance is maintained while always looking to improve the efficiency and performance of the overall team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting (master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in financial management, with at least 7 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis, utilizing tools such as ERP systems, Advanced Excel, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and financial modeling software.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a proven ability to mentor and develop a finance team and drive a culture of excellence.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, both written and verbal.
  • High level of integrity, ethics, and accountability.
  • Self-Starter who prefers to work on a variety of tasks, works with a sense of urgency to stay on track and get things done on time and with 100% accuracy.
  • Candidate must successfully pass post-offer/pre-employment drug and background screen.
