Revelry is looking for a Design Director to lead our design team to create on-trend collections that cater to our customers’ needs. The ideal candidate is a creative visionary with a strong “get stuff done” attitude. A deep understanding of technical design and garment construction is required. This position will report directly to the CEO (our lead designer), but work closely with our internal merchandising / marketing teams, as well as our overseas manufacturers. The ideal candidate must be located in Austin, Texas, with the ability for a hybrid work schedule.
Your Responsibilities:
Lead, manage and develop our design team to deliver product lines within our business goals and seasonal deadlines
Understand industry and competitive trends as it relates to color, patterns, textiles, and style elements to inform Revelry’s design direction
Communicate with our overseas partners on an ongoing basis to resolve issues, adhere to timelines, and source new materials
Analyze customer and internal team feedback to improve our fit, quality and aesthetic standards
Identify and solve potential production, quality and costing issues to ensure brand integrity
Implement new strategies to create efficiencies within the product development and go-to-market processes
Qualifications:
8-10 years of relevant education and experience in technical design and product development in the apparel industry
Degree in Fashion Design, or related discipline
At least 3-5 years of people development and implementing departmental strategies
Strong knowledge of programs such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets
Proven experience working across departments and with overseas factories
A willingness to work in a small, fast-paced environment
A no task is too high or too low attitude
Previous experience with formalwear is a bonus, but not required
Ability to travel internationally
