Director of Accounting

Chesapeake Search Partners Accounting & Finance team has partnered with a growing manufacturing organization in Baltimore. The Director of Accounting, reporting into the Controller, will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Accounting department. This position is responsible for building and managing the team to ensure that work is allocated properly and completed in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze account reconciliations with accounting team
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations
• Ensure that monthly and year-end close conforms to company policy and GAAP
• Perform high level analysis on critical areas of the financial statements
• Prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, bank recs, and others

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 5+ years of Accounting experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Desire to lead
• Process automation experience a plus
• Construction Project Accounting
