Director Microbiology

We are seeking a Director of Microbiology to lead the microbiology department, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and implementing quality control measures. The position involves overseeing all aspects of microbiological testing related to pharmaceuticals and process environments.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and managing the microbiology department, including staff recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.
• Overseeing microbiological testing procedures, including microbial identification and antimicrobial effectiveness testing.
• Ensuring compliance with FDA, ISO, and other regulatory requirements.
• Collaborating with clients to provide technical support and guidance.
• Staying abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A Ph.D. in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or Cell Biology with 10+ years of GMP experience, or an MS with 15+ years of relevant experience.
• 5-7 years of team management experience in an FDA-regulated environment.
• Expertise in pharmaceutical microbial testing and related methodologies (e.g., USP <51>, USP <71>, rapid alternative microbiology testing methods).
