We are looking for a Director, Global Strategic Sourcing (GSS) for Indirect, with focus on our Global Distribution & Logistics business. In this role, you will run point on strategy development, supplier management, and optimization of all indirect spend for these within the global supply chain remit. You will contribute to the team’s success through using your negotiation skills and leading the end-to-end sourcing process. You will report directly to the VP, Global Strategic Sourcing.
About The Job
Lead global category strategy development, optimization of LS&Co. Supply base, tail spend management, supplier rationalization and spend consolidation across Global supply chain, Facilities and DTC and LATAM.
Category Management: Own development of category strategy for global distribution and logistics, Facilities, and real estate; Promote agreement with partners to define the sourcing strategy and market opportunities; Consistent stakeholder engagement; Guide Contract Compliance; Create preferred/approved supplier mapping across assigned categories/subcategories.
Risk Management: Find and address risks associated with logistics operations, such as delays, changes, and compliance issues.
Coach direct reports on both technical and soft skills.
Collaborate with team members to perform regular supplier performance evaluations, including quarterly business reviews (QBR’s).
Maintain knowledge in procurement practices and technologies and market trends related to assigned categories and geographies.
Use of Sourcing Tools: Deliver Savings reporting and status updates to GSS leadership and Stakeholder leadership; Measure all projects in GSS PM system; Embed E-auction and RFX technology in sourcing process
About You
8+ years’ experience in Indirect category sourcing experience preferably across Distribution & Logistics.
This job is remote-friendly, but San Francisco Bay Area is preferred.
Additional sourcing experience across HR, Professional Services, IT, Marketing, and Facilities.
Proficiency in cost analysis of 3pl providers, CPU impacts and costs of logistics strategies.
Technology- Familiarity with logistics software and technologies such as Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and ERP systems
Regulatory and Compliance knowledge; understand regulations related to transportation, warehousing, and international logistics, including customs regulations and environmental laws
Experience with end-to-end Strategic Sourcing processes
Ability to secure favorable terms including pricing, service levels and contractual terms.
The expected starting salary range for this role is $141,200-$215,200. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on the location of the role. The amount a particular employee will earn within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, performance and business needs.
