The Director, Global Direct Procurement will report to the Executive Director of Supply Chain. The Director, Direct Procurement is responsible for overseeing the procurement of all raw materials, components, and services necessary for the production process. This role involves developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the continuous supply of high-quality materials at competitive prices.

The Director, Direct Procurement will lead a team of procurement professionals and work closely with various departments, including Production, Quality Assurance, and Finance, to achieve organizational objectives. They will also be responsible for assessing our capabilities and vendors on a Global basis and determining the correct partners for growth in the different regions.

Overall Responsibilities:

Strategic Procurement Planning:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Conduct market analysis to stay informed about industry trends and best practices.

Supplier Management:

  • Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with key suppliers.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to ensure favorable outcomes for the company.
  • Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.

Operational Management:

  • Oversee the procurement of raw materials, components, and services required for production.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of materials to meet production schedules.
  • Implement and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and documentation.

Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage the direct procurement budget.
  • Track and report on key procurement metrics and performance indicators.
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities and implement strategies to achieve savings.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, and Finance departments to align procurement activities with business needs.
  • Support new product development initiatives by ensuring the availability of necessary materials.
  • Address and resolve any issues related to material supply and quality.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to operate effectively and efficiently on a somewhat independent level
  • A strong business sense and experience operating in small to medium-sized business environment
  • Beauty Industry experience is preferred

Salary Range

$175,000—$185,000 USD

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with the possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
