The Director, Development & Donor Relations (DDDR) directly reports to the President/Executive Director. The DDDR will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission by spearheading all development and fundraising activities. This role requires a dynamic individual with a passion for education, customer relations, cross-functional team collaboration. The responsible individual will have a proven track record in innovative fundraising techniques, including leveraging digital platforms, social media, and data-driven strategies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy that incorporates traditional and digital methods to meet the organization’s financial goals.
  • Collaborate with leadership and across departments to create strategies for developing and implementing donor relations/stewardship to create an energetic and enthusiastic culture of philanthropy.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, faith-based communities and educational institutions to support fundraising efforts and enhance the organization’s visibility.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual donors, foundations, corporations, and other stakeholders. 
  • Maintain and monitor accurate records to track stewardship action for prospects and donors including ensuring acknowledgement.
  • Work closely with the board of directors to leverage networks and expertise in support of development and fundraising initiatives. 
  • Assist with grant submissions and reporting as needed
  • Provide regular updates and reports on successes and development activities.
  • Oversee the creation of marketing materials and communication strategies to promote the organization’s mission and fundraising efforts. Ensure consistent branding across all platforms.
  • Recruit and manage volunteers to support fundraising events and activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or a related field; Master’s degree desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, development, or a related field, preferably within the education or nonprofit sector.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing fundraising strategies that incorporate modern digital tools and platforms.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and event management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in using donor management software, CRM systems, and data analytics tools.
  • Passion for education and commitment to the mission of serving diverse populations.
