As the Director of Catering & Facilities, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of catering services within our hospitality establishment. Your primary objective will be to ensure the delivery of high-quality catering services that align with the standards and expectations of our clients while maximizing profitability and efficiency. This role demands strong leadership, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional hospitality experiences. You will also be responsible for overseeing the efficient operation and maintenance of our facility to ensure a safe, functional, and comfortable environment for employees. Your duties will include managing all aspects of facility maintenance, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and optimizing performance to reduce operating costs. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to facility management.
This role will pay a salary of $85,000.

- Coordinate with internal departments such as culinary, logistics, and operations to ensure seamless execution of catering services.
- Oversee the scheduling and allocation of resources, including staffing, equipment, and supplies, to support catering events.
- Address any issues or concerns promptly and implement corrective actions as necessary to uphold quality standards.
- Implement cost-control measures and pricing strategies to optimize profitability while maintaining competitiveness in the market.
- Foster a positive work environment based on teamwork, respect, and collaboration, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the ongoing functionality and reliability of building systems, equipment, and infrastructure.
- Manage the procurement of supplies, materials, and equipment necessary for maintenance and repair activities, ensuring cost-effective solutions and timely delivery.
- Coordinate and oversee routine inspections, repairs, and servicing of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other mechanical systems to maintain optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
- Manage facility grounds, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for employees and clients.
- All other assignments given by the VP of Backstage Catering.
- B.S. or B.A. degree from an accredited college/university
- 5-7+ years’ experience in catering and facility operations management
- Proven experience in a leadership role within the hospitality industry, preferably in catering services
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Proven experience in facilities management or a related field, with a strong understanding of building systems and maintenance practices
- Technical expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other mechanical systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team of maintenance professionals
- Knowledge of Event production technology
- Capable of operating in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook
- Ability to supervise the work of others
- Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment
- Ability to speak, read and write in English
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
- Working knowledge of equipment safety, facility maintenance and housekeeping
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work long hours (12+ hours), stand for extended periods, lift 50+ lbs., and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
