Design Engineer

TRC Talent seeks a contract design engineer for a leading manufacturer in the metal fabrication/weldment arena. Position will be fully onsite in Janesville, WI. This is a 3-4 mo project role.

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Design Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and development of metal fabrication and weldment. Ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least three years related experience and ability to be fully onsite during the project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
• Conceptualize, design, and develop innovative solutions that meet technical specifications and customer needs.
• Create detailed design documentation, including drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Utilize AutoCAD Inventor CAD software
• Conduct feasibility studies and performance analyses to evaluate design concepts and identify areas for optimization.
• Prototype and test designs to validate functionality, performance, and durability.
• Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are producible and cost-effective.
• Collaborate with quality assurance teams to establish testing procedures and standards.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in design engineering.
• Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve design processes and outcomes.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• At least three years related experience
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Inventor
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and innovatively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
