Demand Planning Analyst

Description

The position of Demand Planner is essential to business continuity across departments, facilitates customer satisfaction and optimizes inventory management. The Demand Planner works closely with the Demand supply chain, connecting the sales projections for professional divisions with the capabilities of the supply chain. The Demand Planner will project and secure the availability of seed inventory necessary to act timely to customer needs. This position works closely with the supply chain, connecting the sales projections for professional divisions with the capabilities of production and operations. This position will also collaborate closely with the Customer Service team providing a conduit for information regarding seed needs, seed availability and timing. Communication, structure, and a critical view are essential in this challenging position. Due to the requirements necessary for the job, this position is NOT REMOTE and will require the employee to be physically present at the office location.


Requirements

  

Key Performance Indicators

· Projections and planning for floor stock and future needs (production plan).

· Floor stock availability will result in quicker fulfillment (3-5 days).

· Optimize run size and resource management.

· Operational excellence, such as order fulfillment rates, order status/communication, stock management, and planning.

· Metrics development, followed by tracking and reporting of these metrics

· Identify, streamline, and implementation of “Best Practices”.


Essential Functions 

1. Monitor CPR and stock allocations, by sector, and by representative (as needed)

2. Manage and update sales projections 

3. Collaborate with demand planning and cross-departmental team members.

4. Work closely with sales management for sales stock needs.

5. Work closely with marketing manager to understand product formulations and substitutes.

6. Assist in implementation of Order App, ERP, and CRM as they become available.

7. Manage stock level and stock needs for all pro divisions (export, turf, forage, wildlife, and channel partners as needed).

8. Monitor quality of finished products.

9. Provide Inventory/Stock information to feed key management tools such as Requested Seed Production, Comprehensive Position Report, Required Stock Levels, etc.

10. Work with strategic partners other cooperators.

11. Keep an eye on the machine schedule and prioritize orders when needed.

12. Determine minimum stock levels depending on time of year.


Required Skills/Abilities

1. Analytics and data management

2. ERP (Pilot) Knowledge 

3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

4. Working knowledge of regulations and procedures.

5. Excellent organizational skills and mindfulness toward detail.

6. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

7. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

8. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.


Required Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a business-related field. (MBA or study abroad preferred)

· 3 years working directly or in directly with importing/exporting.

· 3 years’ experience working with Microsoft Office.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. May also be working temporarily in a warehouse environment during which employee will maintain a safe working environment by following warehouse safety policies.

This is largely a sedentary role.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.


Travel

Limited travel is expected for this position. Travel could include International Travel to ISF and ESA as well as national conferences /events and training.
