We are seeking Engineers to join our team, specializing in cabling infrastructure and network hardware support at client sites. The role involves a variety of tasks, including patching, break-fix, circuit provision and recovery, disconnect/reconnect of desktop and networking equipment, rack and stack of Data Centre Hardware (e.g., Server, Network, and Storage), and provision of connectivity to DC Hardware. This position will be site-based as required and will report to the Service Delivery Manager.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Monitor client ticket systems, ensuring tickets are assigned and completed within SLAs.
  • Audit and document existing cabling installations.
  • Audit and document desktop configurations, including patching and power, for current and proposed user locations.
  • Compile and manage patching schedules.
  • Utilize Cable Management Software for patching planning.
  • Power down, disconnect, and correctly label all desktop equipment and peripherals for reconnection.
  • Perform IMAC-D (Install, Move, Add, Change, Delete) tasks for all desktop equipment and peripherals.
  • Conduct data wiping activities using software tools.
  • Execute all types of patching/jumpering, including voice and data, copper, and fibre.
  • Test and troubleshoot copper and fibre cabling infrastructure (including ISDN line tests) using various modern testers such as continuity testers, tone generators, and standard cabling testers.
  • Perform copper voice and data terminations according to the client’s cabling systems portfolio.
  • Maintain accurate records of stock, update usage, and report any shortfalls to the line manager.
  • Conduct site surveys and update drawings and schedules accordingly.
  • Install and test analogue, digital, and VOIP telephone handsets and provide headset support.
  • Build, rack, and stack network and server hardware in data centre halls and provide connectivity.
  • Perform network hardware break-fix activities, such as replacing power supplies, modules, and fans.


Requirements:


  • Ability to work at multiple client sites across allocated regions.
  • Availability for out-of-hours work, including participation in an on-call rota for weekends and evenings as business demands.
  • Flexible working hours: Monday to Friday shifts, including 07:00 - 16:00 and 14:00 - 23:00 (Shift Rota), with potential for weekday overtime and weekend work.


Desired Qualifications:


  • Experience in a voice and data cabling environment.
  • Experience in a Moves, Adds, and Changes (MAC) environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of modern computer network infrastructure.
  • Practical experience and thorough knowledge of fibre and copper voice and data cabling, including termination, testing equipment, parameters, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of rack and stack server hardware and rack and stack systems.
  • Proficiency in ServiceNow and other process and asset management tools.
  • Good knowledge of server patching.
  • Understanding of LAN/WAN and active devices.
  • Proficient in using modern hand-held cable standards testers.
  • Capable of using light source and power meters.


$60,000 - $65,000 per annum
