Title: Corporate Pilot (SIC) for 2018 Phenom 300e

Location: Sioux City, IA

Reports to: Chief Pilot

Job Description: Sterling is seeking a Phenom 300 First Officer for an immediate opening based in the Sioux City, IA area. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, positive, enthusiastic, goal-oriented, and make safety their priority. This dual role requires a commitment to safety, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to lead and manage the day-to-day activities of our flight department. The applicant must be willing and able to work nights, weekends, and occasionally holidays to meet the requirements of our client’s dynamic schedule. The operator is anticipating between 200-250 flying hours per year. It is expected that the candidate lives or is willing to relocate within a 2-hour call-out time of Sioux City, IA. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the United States. Sterling does not provide immigration or work visa sponsorship.

Required Technical Skills and Qualifications: Highly knowledgeable of the General Operations Manual, FAA Regulations, Standard Operating Procedures, Flight Manuals, and other instructions pertinent to assigned duties. The Corporate Pilot must have the ability to interact with passengers and determine if their needs are being met, as well as help resolve any issues with a friendly and helpful demeanor.

  • FAA Commercial Pilot License with Multi-Engine and Instrument Rating.
  • Type rating in Phenom 300 or willingness to obtain.
  • Minimum of 2000 flight hours total time.
  • Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and aviation safety standards.
  • Proven experience in flight department management or similar leadership role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make quick, informed decisions.

Flight Time Requirements

  • 2000 hours total time.
  • 500 Multi hours.
  • 200 hours twin turbine.
  • FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate.
  • Current Second-Class Medical.
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License.
  • Able to successfully complete a background investigation including FBI fingerprints, criminal history records check, national drivers record check, and a pre-employment drug test.
  • No previous incidents or accidents.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a First Officer or Captain on the Phenom 300.
  • Experience with SMS (Safety Management System) implementation and management.
  • Knowledge of aviation maintenance management systems.
  • EMB-505 Single Pilot Type Rating.
  • ATP Pilot Certificate.
  • Midsize or super-midsize jet aircraft experience.
  • Single-pilot experience.

Required Education: The Corporate Pilot should have a minimum Associates degree in Aviation, Business Management, or a related field, along with their Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) commercial pilot license and an Instrument rating.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist the Captain in flight preparation, execution, and completion in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct pre-flight checks, including reviewing weather conditions, flight plans, and aircraft systems.
  • Keeps updated on current FAA regulations and is knowledgeable on the operational and weight-and balance limitations of the aircraft.
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of passengers throughout the flight.
  • Communicate effectively with air traffic control, ground personnel, and passengers.
  • Adhere to all aviation regulations and company policies during flight operations.
  • Participate in post-flight debriefings and complete necessary documentation.
