Control System Engineer

Role: Control System Engineer (Mitsubishi)

Location: Lafayette, IN

Term: 6-12 Month Contract

Rate: $50 - $55 per hour

About the Company: Our client is a leading provider of automation solutions, specializing in the design and implementation of advanced control systems for the Automotoive industry. They are currently seeking a talented Control System Engineer for a 6-12 month contract position near Indianapolis, IN, to contribute to key projects and drive technological innovation.

Strong experience in working with Mitsubishi PLCs is a pre-requisite.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement control systems for industrial automation projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to understand project requirements and develop control strategies.
• Program and configure Mitsubishi PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems to meet project specifications.
• Conduct system integration and testing to ensure seamless operation and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Mitsubishi PLCs and associated control systems during installation, commissioning, and operation.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of control systems, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and user manuals.
• Provide technical support and training to customers and internal teams specifically on Mitsubishi control systems.

Ideal Experience:

• Extensive experience in designing and implementing control systems for industrial automation projects.
• Proficiency in programming Mitsubishi PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
• Strong understanding of Mitsubishi control system architecture and integration.
• Q Series, IR Series, GX Works and GX Designer experience are all areas of focus.
• Experience with system commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization of Mitsubishi PLCs.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of experience in control system engineering, with significant focus on Mitsubishi PLCs.
• Proficiency in programming languages and software tools used in Mitsubishi control systems.
• Hands-on experience with field devices and instrumentation.
• Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for control systems.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
